- Viticultural year: The 2020 viticultural year was characterised by an early budburst, which occurred three weeks earlier
than usual. Flowering also took place two weeks earlier than normal due to slightly, but consistently higher temperatures throughout February. This weather
pattern continued throughout almost the entire viticultural year, with July registering record temperatures. Yields were compromised, but the berries showed
extraordinary concentration. This vintage produced excellent wines that are full-bodied, with focused fruit and depth.

- The Wine: The first vintages of this wine were made in granite lagares (troughs) using traditional foot treading. This extractive
winemaking technique rendered a wine with more structure and tannins. Today, a gentler winemaking approach that combines the traditional lagares and modern
temperature-controlled stainless steel vats is used. This results in a wine with brighter fruit and softer, velvety tannins. The wine is therefore ready to drink
when released. This wine is made without oak ageing.
- Grape growing and winemaking: The vines are planted in socalcos (very old small terraces supported by stone walls) and patamares
(wider terraces from 1960s). The grapes are hand-picked, destemmed and foot trodden in granite lagares and then racked into stainless steel vats, where fermentation
takes place at controlled temperature.
- Tasting notes: Appearance: Medium deep ruby core, with purple rim;
Nose: Medium intensity, with pure primary aromas, such as wild berries and notes of ripe black fruit;
Palate: Medium to full-bodied, with polished tannins. Intense wild berry fruit flavours and medium acidity. Pleasant, fresh, fruity finish.
- Serving suggestions: Serve at 16°C. This wine accompanies all kinds of grilled and roasted beef, as well as baked fish and Italian
dishes of medium intensity.
